I'm not proud of it - but can finally say we did it. Last weekend was our last chance to get out and enjoy the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. So Jim and I made last minute plans to go camping in Port Angeles. Our trip to the area served multiple purposes: A) Visit Brett, Angie and the kids to see their new house and Brett's office B) Last Camping Trip of the Summer C) An unplanned trip as Twilight Tourists to the towns of Forks and La Push.
Now don't get me wrong - I'm not proud of part C. However, I can now say we came, we saw, we conquered and I have no desire to go back. Really - that town is making bank off a movie that wasn't even filmed there! Of course it took us an hour or two to realize that all these places we were visiting were just "representations" of what was in the book and movie. Give me a break!
But - we took pictures anyway. After all - we DID drive all that way...
How Convenient - The Treaty Line Is Located At a Gas Station
(Where I'm Sure Twilight Tourists Spend Lots of Money)
(Not Even Close To The One In The Movie - Just 'Cuz It's Red - Lame)
(The High School Filmed In The Movie Is In Oregon)
(How Convenient That It's a Bed & Breakfast Where "Esme" Gives Updates On The Cullens)
Oh Brother! Looks Nothing Like Their House - But I'm Sure They Make $$$$
Yes - We Were Suckers!
We also visited La Push - but it was cold and wet and dreary....just like in the movie! But guess what! The scenes in La Push were also filmed in Oregon - as was everything else! Lame.
No - I'm not bitter. But for those thinking about taking the trek - I suggest not.
